Performance Evaluation of a Long-Span Cable-Stayed Bridge Using Non-Destructive Field Loading Tests

As an important part of the transportation network, reliability bridge structures is great significance to people’s personal safety, as well national economy. In order evaluate performance complex structures, their mechanical behavior and fundamental characteristics need be studied. Structural health monitoring (SHM) has been introduced into engineering, structural response assessment, load effects monitoring, evaluation have developed based on collected SHM information. this study, a method for non-destructive field loading tests proposed. The cable-stayed in Guangxi with largest span (Pingnan Xiangsizhou Bridge) was selected research object, main girder transferred piers tower through stay cables, whose responses are critical process operation. Therefore, tests—including deflection strain testing girder, cable force tests—were also conducted Pingnan Bridge by using measurement techniques (multifunctional static test system, radar interferometric deformation technology, etc.). Based numerically simulated results finite element model Bridge, reasonable conditions arrangement were determined. Non-destructive showed that quality bridge’s construction up standard, due good agreement between calculated measured frequencies bridge. addition, calibration coefficients displacement less than 1, indicating satisfactory stiffness strength.
